| Metro Market’s 37th Store |
On the 30th of May, Metro Market opened its first store in Sheraton Residence making this the 37th store in Egypt. It is behind the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, Science Department
The store encompasses a very wide space displaying an array of products including imported items, to suit all possible needs. The store also has our freshly grown fruits and vegetables that are Metro’s trademark as well as the highest quality of meat, bakery, fish and deli products. This is in addition to our organic section for the health conscious customers. As an integral part of all our stores, Metro’s services will be provided including home delivery (19619), shop and drop (buy all your goods and the store will deliver), fry and grill section and the staff will be available to assist you 24 hours a day.
In less than 10 years Metro has become Egypt’s first food retailer serving more than 70,000 customers a day, making above 2 million visits each month. This all owes to our attention to reach you by expanding our network of stores in 10 governorates: Cairo (9), Helwan (6), Giza (9), 6th of October (1), Alexandria (4), Sharm el-Sheikh (2), Hurghada (3), Mansoura (1), Ismailia (1), Port Said (1).
With the beginning of 2010, Metro founded two new convenience stores with the brand name of “Mini Metro”, located in Caltex gas stations in the 6th of October City (in front of Dar el-Fouad Hospital) and in Sheraton Residences (after the airport). In an effort of satisfy new desires, these stores focus on freshness and promptness for people looking to buy items with a time span of a couple of minutes. As Mohanad Ady, Metro’s Managing Director, declares: “Mini Metro stores are responding to the younger age group who want a high quality and fast service for a limited range of items, including coffee, sandwiches, some health and beauty products”. Salads, fresh juice, fruits, desserts and other snacks are some of the items shelved in the stores for an easy “pick-and-go” shopping activity. More Mini Metro stores will be opened during this year within hospitals, clubs and universities
